How Counterfeit Money Almost Landed Jinger Duggar’s Husband In Jail
The 37-year-old husband of Duggar shared details of a near-arrest scenario in a recently released episode of “The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast,” which he co-hosts with his wife.
The former soccer player recounted how the banker attending to him pointed out that he had unknowingly brought in counterfeit money. “We’ve got some counterfeit money here,” the banker echoed to another teller.
Shocked and unsettled, Jeremy admitted that he began making what he later described as “dumb excuses.” Standing there, he remembered how panic set in, and he thought the worst.
“And I’m just thinking, I’m done. Like, they’re gonna bring in the cops. They’re gonna do an investigation. They’re gonna run fingerprints or whatever,” he recalled, visibly agitated.

How Jinger Duggar’s Husband Jeremy Vuolo Escaped Jail
As Vuolo wrestled with thoughts of his predicament, he imagined himself facing a possible 20-year jail term, a “worst-case scenario” punishment his wife had looked up on ChatGPT.
The banker, however, quickly brought him back to reality by letting him feel the money.
“The teller let me feel it. It was just regular paper,” he said, recounting how the situation turned out to be far less severe than he had feared since the bills were clearly fake.
Even so, Jeremy explained that he still had to remain at the bank while a report was made on the incident. On her part, Duggar was simply relieved her husband wasn’t behind bars, teasing him about his previous one-day, one-night jail experience.
“I’m just thankful you’re not in jail right now,” she gushed.

How The Counterfeit Money Came About
Meanwhile, Duggar’s husband explained that he had gotten the money earlier from a car sale he personally handled for a friend, selling it to a visibly wild-looking buyer.
“They [The Vuolo’s Friend] had a car on our property that they were selling… And a guy shows up at the house, who was wild. And the guy selling it was like this guy’s crazy, but he’s here to buy the car. So they made the exchange,” Vuolo recalled.
The car, though not particularly expensive, was sold for $6,000 in cash.
Vuolo later took the money to the bank to make a deposit, only to discover it was counterfeit after the machine repeatedly stopped midway during the attempt.

Jinger Duggar’s Husband Jeremy Vuolo Recounted His Turning Point As A Christian
The one-day, one-night jail experience that Duggar teased her former soccer player husband about appears to have been the true turning point in his Christian journey.
Vuolo reflected on his time as a professional soccer player and how his life took a dark turn after he left the sport.
“For guys who stop playing, they’re on a contract or they get injured, the rest of their life they’re aching to play,” he explained. “But for me, it was different. It was like God took that passion for soccer and just relocated it into ministry.”
According to PEOPLE Magazine, the 37-year-old shares that after his one-time arrest for harassing police while drunk, he made a firm decision to serve Christ with his life.

Jinger Duggar And Jeremy Vuolo Reflected On Early Marriage Struggles
Vuolo’s recollection of his near-prison call comes after the pair got candid about a moment of “betrayal” in their union.
In a chat with newlyweds Lydia Plath and Zac Wyse, they shared how friends Vuolo wanted Duggar to meet after their wedding later turned their backs on them, leaving the couple without a support system.
As reported by The Blast, Duggar described that time as one of “pain and hardship,” saying they had to fully rely on God. Their pastor also encouraged them to walk together as a couple, reminding them that perhaps the Lord was teaching them to depend on Him alone.
Now, things have changed. “We have friends who are family to us, a community we’re invested in. We have everything we didn’t have then. And yet, those years were necessary,” they said.
