#Socialites, get into this: A man in Louisiana, Thomas Allen McCartney, the man who tried to rape a 7-year-old girl, is going to prison for 40 years, and get this…he also agreed to be physically and chemically castrated.

The Vernon Parish District Attorney’s Office confirmed the plea deal, which went down on Tuesday. McCartney, 37, from Leesville, pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree rape of a child.
McCartney has been a problem. When he was arrested back in 2023, the police said he was already a Tier 3 sex offender with a crazy long rap sheet. From attempted aggravated rape, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, to other messed-up stuff.
Vernon Parish District Attorney Terry Lambright made it clear: McCartney is a “predator that needs to be locked away from others.” And it looks like they’re making sure that happens, for good.
What Is Castration?
For those who don’t know, someone is castrated under a plea deal, it usually means that as part of their agreement with prosecutors to avoid a harsher sentence (like life in prison or the death penalty), they consent to undergo surgical castration (removal of the testicles) or chemical castration (use of medication to reduce sex drive and testosterone levels).
This type of plea deal is extremely rare and controversial, but it has been used in some U.S. states and other countries, typically in cases involving serious sexual offenses like child molestation or repeat sex crimes, just like this one.
