Katie Ginella was pulled over in Orange County, California, on June 3 and ticketed for two driving offenses.
Just weeks after her Real Housewives of Orange County co-star, Shannon Beador, 61, was ticketed for using a phone behind the wheel, Katie, 41, was dealt with two tickets, one for the same charge and another for driving without a valid license.
According to court records obtained by Us Weekly on August 27, Katie had a valid license at the time she was pulled over. However, it was from another state. Now, months later, despite getting a California driver’s license, the case against Katie remains “open” in Orange County court.
As RHOC fans will recall, Shannon was ticketed for using her phone on May 21. And on the August 13 episode of Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, she explained what went down during the traffic stop.
“Everything’s fine. I was coming from an interview confessional, and I got a new puppy. When I was at a red light, my phone buzzed, so I wasn’t driving,” she clarified. “I looked at it, and it was one of those political texts, and I put the phone down. A police officer pulled me over. In California, there’s a no-touch law where you can’t touch your cell phone. But he pulled me over before that, and I didn’t know that that was even coming into play.”
“So it’s not a moving violation, but people like to report,” she added.
Due to her September 2023 arrest for DUI and hit and run, Shannon is currently on probation and expected to remain under supervision until late 2026.
Although Katie and Shannon received similar citations, they likely won’t be bonding over their minor legal drama. After all, they’ve been at odds since Katie secretly recorded Shannon amid an alleged meltdown before season 19.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 19 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
