While Meghan Markle may not have an issue eating lobster like her husband, Prince Harry, she certainly has a tough time preparing them.
“Do you know who doesn’t like lobster? My husband,” Markle, 44, told celebrity chef and humanitarian José Andrés in a clip of a recently released season 2 episode of her hit Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.
“No way. And you marry him?” Andrés, 56, responded, which made the Duchess of Sussex laugh.
The pair were back in Markle’s makeshift kitchen, preparing a lobster dish that required the chef to slaughter the crustaceans live and in person — to Markle’s horror.
“So lobster! Come over here baby,” Andrés said.
“He called it baby,” Markle remarked as she watched on, cringing with each cut the chef made as he prepared the meal.
“You need to be very careful because they call it a spiny lobster for a reason — because it’s really spiny,” Andrés explained. “Now this head, we’re going to cut in the middle. We put it right here, we do the other cut the other way and right here, you have the lobster.”

“Well done,” Markle managed to say before taking what appeared to be a very necessary sip from her wine.
“Are you OK?” Andrés asked the host, who at times had to cover her eyes as he was cutting the lobsters.
“I’m good,” she said, though not too convincingly. “I can do it… look, if it’s fish I can somehow get involved.”
Markle then had to stop talking as she tried to watch Andres cut through another lobster.
“Listen, at the end of the day…” Andrés started to say.
“It’s the circle of life,” Markle interjected.
“It’s the circle of life,” Andrés agreed.
All eight episodes of With Love, Meghan season 2 dropped on Tuesday,August 26, ushering in an entirely new slate of celebrity guests as Markle showcases her hostess skills, including Chrissy Teigen, Christina Tosi, David Change, Tan Franc and Heather Dorak.
“Oh, how I love ASMR! If you’re loving Season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on Season 2!” Meghan captioned an Instagram video in March 2025, confirming her series was returning to Netflix for another season. “Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and crew who helped bring it all to life!”
Prior to the second season, Markle opened up about her return to the lifestyle space now that she’s a mom of two.
“When your children get to a certain age — when you’re not just playing in the sandbox with them but almost playing in your own sandbox again — it’s super joyful,” Meghan told People about her show and brand, referring to son Archie and daughter Lilibet, whom she shares with Prince Harry. “As a woman, a mom and a wife, to be able to find yourself again — in a way that was always present but that you maybe couldn’t put as much attention on as you now can when your kids are a little bit older — is a wonderful feeling.”
With Love, Meghan season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
