Disney has released new images from Zootopia 2, featuring two new characters who will be joining Jason Bateman‘s Nick Wilde and Ginnifer Goodwin‘s Judy Hopps in the long-awaited animated sequel. The movie will arrive in theaters on November 26.
“After cracking the biggest case in Zootopia’s history, rookie cops Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find their partnership isn’t as solid as they thought when Chief Bogo orders them to join the Partners in Crisis counseling program. But it doesn’t take long for their partnership to be put to the ultimate test when they find themselves on the twisting trail of a mystery tied to the arrival of a venomous snake in the animal metropolis,” reads the official synopsis.
Who is in the new Zootopia 2 images?
The first image shows Zootopia’s newest mayor, Mayor Winddancer, in a press interview. The character will be voiced by Patrick Warburton (The Emperor’s New Groove, Family Guy). He is succeeding J.K. Simmons’ Leodore Lionheart and Jenny Slate’s Bellwether, after they were arrested for their roles in the disappearances of predators during the first installment. Meanwhile, the second photo features Nick and Judy attending a fancy party, where they’ll meet the Bearoness Bear, voiced by Yvette Nicole Brown (Inside Out 2). In addition, Brown is also lending her voice to another character in the form of EMT Otter.
Zootopia 2 is directed by Encanto filmmakers Jared Bush and Byron Howard, with Bush also writing the screenplay. Besides Warburton and Brown, the sequel also introduces franchise newcomers Ke Huy Quan as Gary De’Snake, Quinta Brunson as Dr. Fuzzby, and Fortune Feimster as Nibbles. The ensemble cast also includes returning stars Shakira as Gazelle, Idris Elba as Chief Bogo, Bonnie Hunt as Bonnie Hopps, Don Lake as Stu Hopps, Nate Torrence as Clawhauser, Jenny Slate as Bellwether, Alan Tudyk as Duke Weaselton, Maurice LaMarche as Mr. Big, Leah Latham as Fru Fru, Josh Dallas as Frantic Pig, Tommy Chong as Yax, Mark Rhino Smith as Officer McHorn, and Raymond Persi as Flash. It is produced by Yvett Merino.
