Following last year’s Misery EP, Together Pangea dropped a trio of singles that gave a fresh update to the garage-surf sound of their early days, wading into a fuzzier, ’90s alt-rock realm. Those songs — “Little Demon,” “Molly Said,” and “Empty Church” —appear on the band’s latest album, Eat Myself, out Jan. 16 via Nettwerk Music Group.
Produced in LA by Mikey Freedom Hart (Blood Orange, Lana Del Rey), Eat Myself sees the trio growing older and wiser, trading the chaos of their 20s for a darker calm as they settle into their 30s. With that change comes an evolution in sound, pulling from Deftones, the Smashing Pumpkins, and My Bloody Valentine, as heard on their new single, “Like Your Father.”

“The song is about searching for identity and how time will tell you who you are,” lead vocalist/guitarist William Keegan says. “It’s also about being really freaked out about getting older. This was actually one of the first songs I wrote for the new record, and I remember sending it to the band and thinking, ‘Oh, my God, they’re not going to like it.’ Turns out they were down, and here we are.”
Together Pangea have a handful of dates in support of Eat Myself throughout November and January, including an album release show in LA. See those dates here and the video for “Like Your Father,” directed by Sarah Ritter, below.
