Jon Gruden has taken aim at the Tar Heels’ General Manager Mike Lombardi after Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, was once again spotted spending time on the sideline during the team’s recent game.
Gruden, who has traded media jabs with Lombardi over the years, said he was shocked to see what was happening in the team.
Jordon Hudson’s appearance on the sidelines wasn’t the first time she has done so, and it has already sparked backlash from fans of the team.

Jon Gruden Expressed Shock Over Jordon Hudson’s Sideline Cameo

On Monday’s episode of “Wake Up Barstool,” former Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden took a swipe at Tar Heels GM Mike Lombardi, who is a close confidant of coach Bill Belichick.
In his quick rant, the Barstool Sports pundit expressed shock at the coach’s girlfriend being spotted once again on the sidelines, and seemingly laid the blame on the team’s GM for letting it slide.
“I’ve never seen anything like that,” Gruden told host Dave Portnoy about Hudson’s appearance, which occurred before UNC was battered 34-9 by UCF.
Both Gruden and Lombardi have a long history, with the former serving as offensive coordinator for the Eagles from 1995 to 1997, while Lombardi worked as a consultant for the team in 1997.

Their worlds collided again in the next decade when Lombardi was an executive with the Raiders and Gruden was head coach of the team.
Over the years, they have traded jabs about the sports, which Gruden leaned into during his criticism.
He added, “Mike Lombardi works for North Carolina. I’ve heard him criticize me several times. I’m sure he’ll produce a TikTok today explaining exactly what was going on.”

Another Football Expert Said Bill Belichick Is His Own Man In Defense Of The Coach’s Romance With Jordon Hudson
Fox NFL analyst Greg Olsen, who also appeared on the show, weighed in on Hudson’s sideline cameo, noting that so much has changed about the sport.
“I think there is all sorts of stuff that a lot of us are not used to seeing in [today’s college world] — who’s on the sidelines, who runs programs, who has say into programs, the influencer,” he shared.
However, he believes that Belichick is his own man and that all the controversy over Hudson’s behavior at Chapel Hill won’t matter if the team starts winning.

“Listen, I don’t think Belichick necessarily cares what anyone thinks,” he added. “He obviously values her opinion in a lot of factors. Do I care if a coach’s wife, girlfriend, kids are on the sidelines? … I don’t necessarily care, but I guess to each their own. At the end of the day, if you win… she can wear a headset if they’re winning.”

Jordon Hudson Appeared On The Sidelines In A Previous Game
I’m a huge Bill Belichick fan and appreciate everything he did for the New England #Patriots. If he wants to now date a 24-year old, it is his business, not mine. However, the way she is SO in the mix at #UNC is objectively a horrendous look for him. pic.twitter.com/id3ioSE0iZ

Earlier in the month, Hudson was also seen on the sidelines before kickoff for UNC’s game against the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs.
Clips of the moment quickly went viral and led to many football-loving netizens trolling her and Belichick.
“Why would she want to be on the field during practice?” one netizen wrote about Hudson, adding, “Weird.”
A second user commented, “If [Belichick] wants to now date a 24-year-old, it is his business, not mine. However, the way she is SO in the mix at #UNC is objectively a horrendous look for him.”
“This gal will be the downfall of Bill Belichick’s reputation,” one more netizen remarked.
“The legendary coach, who built winning on discipline, ironically, now risks being remembered more for dating a 20-something who has ZERO business stepping foot on a football field.”

Bill Belichick And Jordon Hudson Have Courted Controversy In Recent Months

Since joining UNC as head coach, Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson’s lives have been wrapped in controversy over her alleged involvement in both his personal life and career.
The scrutiny intensified after the duo’s controversial CBS interview in April, when Hudson cut in on the interviewer as he tried to ask Belichick a question about how they met.
Weeks after the interview, Belichick clarified that the former cheerleader has nothing to do with his coaching career at UNC, though he did admit that she helps manage his personal business affairs.
“She does the business things that don’t relate to North Carolina that come up in my life so I can concentrate on football. And that’s what I really want to do,” he told GMA’s Michael Strahan in an interview, per ESPN.
He added, “So she did a good job of keeping me on balance there.”

The Couple Is ‘Thriving In People’s Jealousy’

Despite the negative criticism Belichick and Hudson continue to face, the couple is said to be unfazed and is even more emboldened by it to flaunt their love.
A source who spoke with the Daily Mail claimed that the backlash they have received “acts as a fuel for their relationship and makes them even more in love,” as they are “thriving in people’s jealousy.”
“They both have hit the lottery and are all about each other, and they both feel that they make each other better,” the source said.
The insider further noted that it has become a thing for people to “pounce” on Hudson and Belichick if there is any “type of misfortune that comes their way.”
However, despite how things might seem with the constant mockery they are subjected to, the couple is still “happy” and in “love.”
