General Hospital pays heartfelt tribute to Leslie Charleson in September 25 episode
General Hospital released a video ahead of the September 25, 2025, episode of the soap opera, paying tribute to the legendary Leslie Charleson, who passed away earlier this year. Despite her death in January this year, the show kept her alive till now, and finally gave her an emotional memorial service in the September 25 episode.
In the video tribute, several General Hospital actors came together to talk about the veteran actress who was a huge part of the show.
“The way that we should all remember Leslie,” Finola Hughes said in the video, “is that she was an awful lot of fun.” The video also contained clips from the soap’s 62nd anniversary episode, where friends and relatives gathered for the dedication of the Dr. Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Care Center.
Clips of Monica, along with recollections from the cast members, acted as a perfect send-off gift to an actress who was a huge part of General Hospital throughout. The video concluded with a preview of the September 25 episode, which featured moments from Monica’s funeral. This also included Laura speaking at the funeral.
Following this, Genie Francis, who portrays Laura, spoke out about Monica‘s character. “She is like a Dr. Hardy or a Jessie Brewer,” she said, “These people are General Hospital. They made General Hospital (via Soap Opera Digest).”
Leslie Charleson started her career in General Hospital back in 1977. Since then, she continued to portray the character till 2023. It also became her defining work in a fulfilling career that lasted several decades. Charleson was the longest-serving cast member of General Hospital.
