Mutant Mayhem 2 Gets New Release Date

Luke Wilson (Old School) is stepping back onto the fairway with longtime collaborator Will Ferrell in Netflix’s new 10-episode golf comedy series. This marks another team-up for the duo, who have a long history of cracking audiences up together on screen.

The untitled series centers on Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, played by Ferrell, a fictional golf legend whose glory days on the course are colliding with the chaos of his personal life.

The show has already lined up a stacked cast including Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, Chris Parnell, Katelyn Tarver, and David Hornsby.

Shannon takes on the role of Lonnie’s sharp-tongued ex-wife Stacy, while Tatro plays their son Lance, a rising golf superstar in his own right. Feimster joins as Sam, a new caddie who might just bring Lonnie some much-needed luck.

Parnell is set to play Anton, a smug PGA Tour board member, and Tarver plays Natalie, Lance’s devoted influencer fiancée. Hornsby rounds out the cast as Radford, a wealthy Southerner now romantically involved with Stacy.

Wilson will bring even more tension to the green as a pro golfer who has bested Lonnie not once, but twice in championship play. His presence sets up a rivalry that promises plenty of comedy and maybe even some heart.

Fans of Ferrell and Wilson will remember that this isn’t their first time sharing the screen. Their comedic chemistry has been tested and proven across several films including Old School (2003), Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie (2004), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), The Wendell Baker Story (2005), Blades of Glory (2007), and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013).

Behind the scenes, Ferrell is executive producing alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez Productions. The powerhouse team of Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue are also on board as executive producers through T-Street.

Netflix hasn’t revealed a release date yet, but with Ferrell and Wilson back together, fans can expect plenty of hilarious moments and a fresh spin on the world of professional golf.
