Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy’s Dancing With the Stars routine during TikTok Night almost looked very different.
“I give so much props to Val because after last week’s show, I called him, and I was like, ‘Someone commented saying we should do a voice-over [of my] Get Ready With Me in the beginning,’” Earle, 24, exclusively told Us Weekly after the Tuesday, September 30, live show. “I was like, ‘We had this idea where we sat at a vanity, but a vanity doesn’t make sense in our dance.’”
Earle’s “Get Ready With Me” videos have become a hallmark of her TikTok page, where she often chats to the camera while applying makeup. During her Tuesday performance, she and Chmerkovskiy, 39, began their quickstep routine the same way.
“We had to, like, switch around the whole beginning of our dance pretty late,” Earle told Us. “Thanks to the production team for getting that all together. I mean, the stuff they do here is insane. I don’t know how they even put this stuff together so quick and make it look so amazing.”
Earle and Chmerkovskiy’s routine, set to M / Robin Scott’s “Pop Muzik,” earned a score of 23 out of 30 from the judges.
“I knew it was going to be a week where we were going to have a lot of fun on socials,” Earle told Us of preparing for the theme night. “I wanted to make sure we were able to translate that onto the dance floor.”
In addition to practicing her moves, Earle and Chmerkovskiy have also dedicated rehearsal time to make behind-the-scenes TikTok content.

“It’s just spur-of-the-moment. That’s how I create,” she explained to Us. “I mean there’ll be times I save sounds, but, like, if we’re walking and Val says something funny, and I’m like, ‘Oh my, God, that reminds me of this.’ Everything is just, like, in the moment, and when we’re taking a break from dancing, I’m like, ‘Can we film this?’”
Earle’s DWTS tenure also has the full support of her loved ones, including boyfriend Braxton Berrios.
“He’s been so supportive, and he’s been watching and voting,” she told Us of the Houston Texans football player, 29. “[It’s] nice to be able to catch up with him at night. He obviously also has a busy schedule right now, [but] it’s been nice having the support.”

Berrios might have to compete for the title of Earle’s No. 1 fans with her parents and siblings, who have rarely missed a live taping thus far.
“It’s so fun because my parents, when I was younger, were never the type of parents [who were] like, ‘We’re gonna come,’” she added. “I mean, they were great. They were so lovely. They were just not that crazy, but with this, they’re like, ‘We were going to be here every week!’ They’re flying across the country to come.”
After Earle and Chmerkovskiy finished their routine, the social media star ran over to her family’s seats.
“I got tears in my eyes seeing my dad and my stepmom,” she said. “It’s so cool having them come to support all this way.”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
