The New York Times’ Connections is a daily word puzzle created by editor Wyna Liu. The objective of this game is to create groups of four from an assortment of 16 different words. Players must figure out the hidden themes that each group follows and categorize the words accordingly. However, the game allows only four tries to figure out the themes and crack the puzzle. Furthermore, Connections also offers a helpful “one away…” hint for those who are close to selecting all the correct words for a group.

Connections hint for October 4

The 16 words in today’s puzzle are: SUGAR, STAR, OATMEAL, GUST, BLOW, STITCH, ARTS, BLAST, DARN, MEND, TSAR, RATS, GALE, PATCH, FORTUNE, and RAINBOW.

Here are some hints for each group:

Yellow Group: The words in this group are related to clothes.

Green Group: This group features words associated with air.

Blue Group: All words in this category contain the same letters.

Purple Group: Finally, the purple category features words related to a popular dessert.

Yellow Group: Fix A Hole In Clothing – DARN, MEND, PATCH, and STITCH.

Green Group: Rush Of Wind – BLAST, BLOW, GALE, and GUST.

Purple Group: Kinds Of Cookies – FORTUNE, OATMEAL, RAINBOW, and SUGAR.

The New York Times Games offers a unique collection of popular online puzzles. These include fan favorites such as Wordle, Strands, Letter Boxed, Sudoku, and many more. The puzzles are also available on the NYT Games app. Except for Crossword and Mini Crossword, all puzzles can be played for free.
