Body Found In Impounded Tesla Registered To Grammy-Winning Singer D4vd
As we previously shared, on September 8, LAPD officers were called to an impound lot in Hollywood, California. Employees at Hollywood Tow made the call to police. They reported a foul odor coming from inside of a car parked in their lot.
Upon arrival, police approached the vehicle with a strong stench. Officers described the car as a black 2023 Tesla with Texas license plates. They opened the front trunk of the Tesla and discovered a decomposing body stuffed inside of a bag.
Los Angeles Police Captain Robert Peters told NBC News Los Angeles the car was reported abandoned, sitting in the Hollywood Hills for about a month. The car received some citations and was eventually taken to Hollywood Tow, where it sat for two days before the big discovery.
Upon initial investigation, detectives linked the car back to an owner based out of Hempstead, Texas. His name listed as David Anthony Burke, better known as singer D4vd. The 20-year-old Grammy Award-winning artist is best known for voicing viral songs like “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me.” The two songs alone have garnered billions of streams on Spotify, where he has more than 33 million monthly listeners.

LA County Medical Examiner Rules Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s Death Undetermined, Not Pregnant; LAPD Not Naming D4vd As Suspect
As previously shared earlier this week, a medical examiner’s Office made a ruling in Hernandez’s death. Weeks after the teen’s body was discovered, a death certificate obtained by TMZ, revealed a Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled that the cause of death has been “deferred,” or “undetermined.”
The certificate claimed an autopsy was performed. However, TMZ reported that the coroner is still awaiting toxicology results. The certificate also showed the teen was not pregnant nor had she been in the last year.
LAPD Captain Scot Williams said the agency was trying to determine if Hernandez died from foul play or other causes. Without the coroner’s findings, the death cannot officially be listed as a homicide. Nor can the LAPD officially rule out foul play. The LAPD has once again stated that it has not listed D4vd as a suspect in Hernandez’s death.
On Monday (September 29), the LAPD released the following statement:
“The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD) has been diligently investigating the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez over the past several weeks. At this time, we can confirm that Celeste Rivas Hernandez is deceased, and her body was found in the front trunk area of a Tesla belonging to David Burke. The vehicle had been parked at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so Ms. Rivas Hernandez may have been deceased for several weeks before the discovery of her body.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of Ms. Rivas Hernandez’s death. As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body. RHD is thoroughly examining every aspect of this case to uncover the truth and seek justice for Celeste Rivas Hernandez and her family.
We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as we continue this investigation. Further updates will be provided as appropriate, but at this time, we are unable to answer additional questions.”
