Dancing With the Stars professional dancer Jan Ravnik exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about the judges focusing on him during their critiques this season.
Ravnik, 30, made his DWTS debut in the season 34 premiere as The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen Affleck’s professional partner, and thus far, his choreography has been a hot topic during judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli’s evaluations. During Disney Night on Tuesday, October 7, Inaba, 57, particularly encouraged Ravnik to make his routines “a little more challenging as we move forward” because the couple’s jazz dance “didn’t send [her] over the top.”
“They’re just obsessed with me or something,” he told Us with a laugh following Tuesday’s live show. “I mean, look, I am new so I’m gonna take every note that they’re giving to me. I don’t think it’s in a bad way that they’re always saying.”
Ravnik seemed thrilled that “everyone’s talking” about his and Affleck’s jazz routine set to Aladdin’s “Friend Like Me” on Disney Night, which earned a combined score of 23 out of 30 from the three judges.
“[A score of] 7, 8,8 is incredible. It’s incredible,” he beamed. “So she was working hard, and even if there will be three sixes, we will not care, because she did an amazing job.”
Affleck, 26, echoed her partner’s comments, insisting that she would have been proud of her Disney Night performance even if the judges weren’t impressed.
“I worked harder this week than I have ever worked in my life, and at the end of the day, they could have given me the worst scores, and I still would have walked off the stage with a smile, because I did my back walkover and guess what? I got through the routine and I did the best I could,” she explained to Us.
Dancing With the Stars viewers got to see more of Mormon Wives star’s family life with her and husband Zac Affleck’s three children — Nora, 3, Luca, 2, and Penelope, 3 months — as they visited Disneyland in the run up to the theme night. Following the episode, Affleck admitted that mom guilt has been “the realest thing” while going through the exhaustive process of DWTS training.
“Guess what, whether I was doing Dancing With the Stars or not, mom guilt would still be there, and it will always be there, and that’s definitely a sign you’re a good mom because you’re trying your best and you want to be better every single day. For them, for yourself, for everyone,” she told Us.
Meanwhile, her professional partner Ravnik continues to make a huge impression during his first season in the ballroom. Prior to joining DWTS, Ravnik was a featured dancer on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, and he has also worked with pop icons Bruno Mars and Paula Abdul throughout his career.
“I traveled all around the world with Eras Tour, and now I’m coming to the ballroom stage for Dancing With the Stars,” he announced in August. “Mirrorball never goes out of style, and we are ready to win it.”

Disney Night on Dancing With the Stars came to a shocking end with Hilaria Baldwin and her pro partner Gleb Savchenko becoming the fourth couple eliminated so far this season. Hilaria later thanked her husband Alec Baldwin and other loved ones for supporting her DWTS journey while speaking exclusively to Us.
“[Alec is] such a good support. He’s a really good support, and I’m very grateful to have him,” she said. “He always says to me, ‘You’ve supported me through so many things, and so I’m here to support you through this.’ It’s been a wonderful journey.”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
