Andy Cohen is facing backlash on social media after poking fun at Stacey Rusch‘s breath, which has been a hot topic on The Real Housewives of Potomac, on Sunday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
After repeatedly being called out for her supposedly bad breath by Ashley Darby, 37, who was featured as a guest on the episode, Stacey, 53, was targeted by Andy, 57, who hosted a game called “Don’t Hold Your Breath!” that featured a graphic of her with green steam coming out of her mouth.
“Okay, this is mean,” a viewer wrote on X on October 12, tagging both Andy and Bravo.
“This is totally unprofessional, mean, and yes, a form of bullying,” another person agreed.
“Yeaaaa…I cringed a bit when this popped up,” said someone else.
As many commenters admitted they were “not surprised” and labeled Andy “petty,” others were harsher in their critiques, calling Andy “trash” and accusing him of making Bravo shows “unwatchable.”
“You are the problem,” one person declared as another said they hoped the topic of Stacey’s breath, and the claims made against it, would be addressed at the RHOP reunion.
“I don’t like this at all, and I hope they address it in the reunion and apologize because this is terrible behavior,” they wrote. “It’s one thing to say at one time, but to try to make this the running joke for her is malicious.”
Another person said Andy’s game was “quite shameful” and set a poor example for his talent, including Gizelle Bryant, 55, who said she “100 percent” agreed with Ashley’s assessment of Stacey’s breath on her own episode of WWHL earlier this month.
“This exactly is the kind of behavior that makes people like Gizelle and Ashley think they can always get away with nasty behaviors … Especially if their boss can do the same,” they shared.
Some even called out potential racial undertones, saying that Andy would “never [do] this to those white women” and encouraging the host to bring the same energy to “the other less melanated housewives franchises.”
“He never does this with the [Real Housewives of Beverly Hills] or [Real Housewives of Orange County] girls, he always goes this hard for the [Real Housewives of Atlanta] and [RHOP] cast and it’s very weird,” a commenter noted.
In one further diss against Stacey on Sunday night, Andy’s “Word of the Night” was “breath.”
