Eleven actors have joined the cast of the Extraction TV show.
Extraction first originated as a Chris Hemsworth-starring Netflix movie that was released in 2020. Directed by Sam Hargrave, that movie was followed by a sequel, 2023’s Extraction 2, while a third film is also in the works.
Earlier this year, Netflix announced that an Extraction TV show is additionally happening. The previously announced cast of the series includes Omar Sy, Boyd Holbrook, Natalie Dormer, Waleed Zuaiter, and Ed Speleers.
Per Deadline, the cast of the Extraction television show now includes Muhannad Ben Amor, who is known for playing Wilmon on Disney+’s Andor series.
Additionally, Sacha Dhawan (The Great), Ross McCall (White Collar), Pip Torrens (Preacher), Sam Woolf (We Were the Lucky Ones), Michael Zananiri (Once Upon a Time in Gaza), Riyad Sliman (Ramy), Aaron Heffernan (Brassic), Jojo Macari (Those About to Die), Theo Ogundipe (Mickey 17), and Emma Appleton (Everything I Know About Love) have joined the cast.
“The eight-episode first season follows a mercenary (Sy) who embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya,” a description of the show reads. “Trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers, he must navigate life-or-death choices while confronting deep emotional wounds.”
Produced by AGBO, the Extraction TV show comes from showrunner, writer, and executive producer Glen Mazzara. Joe and Anthony Russo, known as the Russo Brothers, also serve as executive producers, as do Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and Chris Castaldi for AGBO, Sam Hargrave, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin.
Mazzara previously said in a statement, “I’m a very lucky man. Omar is a huge talent. Joe, Anthony, and Angela have welcomed me into the AGBO family. The team at Netflix is truly the best I’ve ever worked with. Very lucky indeed.”
A premiere date for the Extraction TV show has not yet been announced.
