Netflix’s Most Popular Movies — 3 You Need to Watch Now (December 23-26)

What a first episode for a new season of FBI that was. The emotional whiplash was definitely there. I have to say, spending almost the entire episode worried for Isobel was tough, especially since they made it sound like it was certain she was going to die or even at the start like she had already died. I truly couldn’t imagine the show without her.

The A story was a very intriguing one, it didn’t focus much on the storyline as to why the Judge was murdered other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the possible racist motivations. I do wish it would have been focused on a bit more.

I loved the fact that they showed the bonds between each of the duo’s. Especially the mention of Nina even if it was just a flippant comment from Scola about Dani ignoring her messages.

As always, I love the dynamic between Maggie and OA. It’s great to see that even after 8 years they are just as strong as ever. One of my favourite scenes of the episode is where the pair are trapped behind the dustbin with Eli, Maggie points her gun one way and OA points the other way. The level of trust you could see they had in that moment, both of them having their backs to potential flying bullets but knowing the other had them covered was such a powerful scene.

Honestly the moment that Dani got shot I could tell that her vest hadn’t caught it. The way she was breathing was such a clear indicator that she had been hit, but I never would have imagined she was going to die.

The fake out of Isobel being the one on the verge of death since last season but then it actually being Dani that was killed off was so clever. I know we only had Dani in a few episodes as Scola’s partner and as much as I missed Tiff, I had really started to love Dani and was looking forward to her partnership developing with Scola.

I truly couldn’t even be happy that Isobel was alive with Dani essentially dying simultaneously. It genuinely broke my heart to see the final Dani scene of Scola holding her hand whilst she was being covered up.

I do think that this will be an incredibly great season for FBI, it’s going to be interesting to see the fall out of Dani dying for the whole team and how they will deal with it.
