Sam Mendes has cast more of the women who made history alongside The Beatles for his upcoming biopics on the Fab Four.

Mia McKenna-Bruce will star as Maureen Cox, the wife of Ringo Starr; Anna Sawai will be Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s wife; and Aimee Lou Wood will be Pattie Boyd, who married George Harrison. They join Saoirse Ronan who was earlier cast as Linda (Eastman) McCartney.

“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” said Mendes in a statement on Friday.

Sony Pictures‘ The Beatles—A Four-Film Cinematic Event also earlier brought on board Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as Lennon, Joseph Quinn as Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Starr. The four Beatles films, one from each band member’s point of view, are set for a theatrical release in April 2028.

The project has yet announce who will portray Cynthia Lennon, Brian Epstein, George Martin, Ravi Shankar and other key roles.

The Beatles films follow Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles band having granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film. While it is unclear which songs will be featured in the films, the full Beatles catalog is available to the filmmakers.

Mendes conceived four theatrical feature films to capture the breadth of the iconic rock band’s journey and legacy. Mendes is producing alongside his Neal Street partner Pippa Harris and Neal Street’s Julie Pastor. Alexandra Derbyshire is also producing.

Sony Pictures will finance and distribute theatrically the biopics worldwide.
