There’s no better way to say “I do” in Middle-earth than having Elijah Wood himself show up to your wedding at Hobbiton. That’s exactly what happened to one lucky couple in New Zealand who hosted a full Lord of the Rings-themed ceremony—and ended up getting the surprise of a lifetime from Frodo Baggins himself.
A viral video capturing the moment shows Wood sneaking up on the couple as they exchange vows at the real-life Hobbiton film set. Everyone at the ceremony was decked out in Hobbit-inspired costumes, surrounded by the rolling green hills that movie fans instantly recognize.
But the fantasy became reality when the LOTR star casually walked in, turning the peaceful ceremony into a moment of pure magic.
The bride and groom’s reactions said it all. As soon as they spotted Wood, their jaws dropped, and the guests quickly followed their gaze before bursting into cheers. Wood actor joined the celebration, congratulated the couple, and took photos with the ecstatic newlyweds before saying his goodbyes and jogging off to let them continue their big day.
Wood is also gearing up for his next big-screen project, the upcoming horror comedy Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Durand, and David Cronenberg. Wood was also recently seen in the 2025 horror flick The Monkey.
