It genuinely took all of three seconds for my jaw to drop at the start of this episode, Stella really wasn’t playing. “Commissioner Serveride” will live rent free in my head for weeks now. I also wouldn’t be too mad if it actually happened either.
This foster storyline has really been showcasing why we need to have Stella and Kelly finally start a family of their own. I loved the fact that you could see Stella realise that she was a parent to Isaiah after her conversation with Vasquez.
On a side note, I know I said that Stella needed a break, but I didn’t mean from the show. I am seriously hoping that she will only be missing for the next episode and be back after the fall break. The final scene with Isaiah crying made me so emotional. I’ve said it before, but Hero Hunter is such an incredible actor. Having him paired with arguably two of the best actors in current mainstream media is clearly a recipe for success.
I physically punched the air for Vasquez when he stood up to his Dad, however I do wonder what havoc his dad will cause to his life from behind bars. You can really tell that Vasquez is such a caring human and clearly respected his dad a lot. It was so interesting to watch Vasquez visibly lose the respect he had for him when the widower told him what actually happened at the scene.
I have definitely joined the Vasquez and Novak ship; I knew she would be the first person that he opened up to. I really want to see the pair grow together and have a deeper bond through this season. Obviously, we know that next episode Novak’s sister is in the hospital, and I would really like to see them lean on each other.
I am not too sure how I feel about watching Pascal start a relationship with Annette Davis, but I am looking forward to seeing how it may affect their working relationship and also how it may affect others within the department. Will 51 get preferential treatment because of their relationship? There are so many possibilities to extend from that storyline.
I can’t wait to see what is in store for the fall finale next week!
