Read on to learn about these picks and more!
‘The Beast in Me’ Season 1
Celebrated author Aggie Wiggs (Danes) has retreated from public life since the death of her young child and has not written or released a book since the tragic incident. However, Aggie suddenly finds kismet inspiration in her new next-door neighbor, business mogul Nile Jarvis (Rhys), who was once the prime suspect in the mysterious disappearance of his wife. Aggie begins investigating her neighbor to escape her own life and soon finds herself down a dangerous path.
The Beast in Me is created by Gabe Rotter, who worked on season 11 of The X-Files, and it reunites Danes with Homeland creator Howard Gordon, who serves as the series’ showrunner. The supporting cast and guest actors include Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, Jonathan Banks and Hettienne Park. With all these top-notch creatives involved, we couldn’t be more excited to watch.
Stream The Beast in Me on November 13 on Netflix.
‘Eddington’ (2025)
In the small town of Eddington, New Mexico, during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, a standoff ensues between the local sheriff Joe Cross (Joaquin Phoenix) and the mayor Ted Garcia (Pedro Pascal). Meanwhile, the social and political turmoil that’s occurring across the country roils through Eddington itself, pitting citizen against citizen as many seek answers: some going down conspiracy rabbit holes, and others turning to activist groups.
Horror director Ari Aster moves away from the scares in Hereditary and Midsommar, playing far more into the dark comedy of his absurd third film, Beau is Afraid. While many may roll their eyes at the prospect of a “COVID movie,” Eddington both sharply skewers the divineness of its moment in time while also capturing the technological fallout that has irreparably harmed the modern world.
Stream Eddington on November 14 on HBO Max.
‘Nouvelle Vague’ (2025)
In the 1950s and ’60s, French cinema was transformed by the “Nouvelle vague” movement, otherwise known as the French New Wave. This radical filmmaking movement is spearheaded by a number of big names in French cinema and film criticism, and at the budding forefront is a young critic named Jean-Luc Godard. Eager to make his mark in this new world, he sets out to make Breathless — a slapdash, improvised, chaotic production that goes on to become one of the preeminent titles of the French New Wave.
Richard Linklater transposes his love of French cinema into this charming and fascinating narrative film, which chronicles the production of Breathless, starring Zoey Deutch as the film’s famous American star, Jean Seberg, alongside newcomer Guillaume Marbeck as Godard himself and Aubry Dullin as Seberg’s co-star, Jean-Paul Belmondo.
Stream Nouvelle Vague on November 14 on Netflix.
‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 3
Jen Affleck, Whitney Leavitt, Taylor Frankie Paul and the rest of our favorite Utah gals return for the third season of this highly popular Hulu reality series that chronicles the dramatic lives of a group of young Mormon wives and mothers of the “MomTok” influencer group. The series begins in the wake of a swinging scandal involving Paul, while also taking a look at how the young women struggle to balance their religion and family expectations with their public personas.
After the highs and lows of the previous two Mormon Wives seasons, two members going on to become Dancing with the Stars contestants and a couple of new babies, the trailer for season 3 looks like we’ve got another fantastic season of lies, scandal and drama on our hands. Ruined marriages, lie detector tests and reputations on the line — just another normal season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Stream The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3 on November 13 on Hulu.
‘Palm Royale’ Season 2
Kristen Wiig leads this period comedy-drama series based on the 2018 novel Mr. & Mrs. American Pie by Juliet McDaniel. In 1969, social striver Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons (Wiig) yearns for a place among the elite of Palm Beach, Florida, and so she mingles around the high society club, the Palm Royale, to infiltrate the world she believes she deserves to be a part of. The star-studded show includes a roster of A-listers, including Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Carol Burnett and Ricky Martin.
With fantastic production design and eye-catching costumes, Palm Royale is a stylish comedy in which Wiig’s Maxine learns what she will and will not do to climb her way to the top. Despite its cast of Oscar winners, the series boasts a standout lead performance from Wiig, who balances comedy and drama effortlessly.
