The Copenhagen Test Season 1 Episode 1-8 Release Date, Time, Where to Watch

Jennifer Lawrence is diving into the world of Muppets, and she’s bringing Emma Stone along for the ride. The Oscar-winning actress recently revealed new details about the Miss Piggy movie she’s producing, teasing that the idea was born out of the strange, isolating days of lockdown, and a conversation that took a surprising turn toward cancel culture.

“So, during lockdown, one of my good friends who is not in the industry—it was also kind of around cancel culture,” Lawrence said on The Tonight Show.

“It was like both things were kind of happening at once. We were all locked up in our rooms, naughty people were being locked up in prison.”

According to Lawrence, the spark came when her friend joked about what it would be like if Miss Piggy herself got canceled.

“Miss Piggy is a feminist icon, and she said it would be so funny if Miss Piggy got canceled. Now, that is not the plot, necessarily, but it got the wheels turning.”

The project, which Tony Award winner Cole Escola is writing, marks the first solo Miss Piggy movie since her debut on The Muppet Show back in 1976.

“There hasn’t actually been a solo project about Miss Piggy,” Lawrence explained. “So, I started kind of producing it. But Emma Stone is the Muppet-head. Also, Emma Stone is a shark … I’m, just like, the ideas guy. So, I went to her to be like, ‘What do we do?’ So, now Cole is writing it, and they’re perfect.”

Lawrence first mentioned the movie on the Las Culturistas podcast, where she said she and Stone are hoping to appear in the film as well.

For decades, Miss Piggy has been one of pop culture’s most glamorous and outrageous divas. From her early days as a background performer on The Muppet Show to stealing the spotlight from Kermit the Frog, she’s always been a larger-than-life character. And now, after nearly 50 years of fame, she’s finally getting her own moment to shine.

The Muppets are currently celebrating their 70th anniversary, and Disney+ recently announced a Muppet Show revival from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures. The special, set to debut in 2026 with Sabrina Carpenter as a guest star, will coincide with the show’s 50th anniversary.
