EXCLUSIVE: Four more have joined Father Joe, the action thriller written and produced by Luc Besson (Dracula: A Love Tale, Léon: The Professional), which is currently being presented to buyers at AFM: Michael Rispoli (Nonnas), Fred Melamed (Barry), Chris Tardio (Power Book IV: Force) and Erik Palladino (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel).
Character details are under wraps. Directed by Barthélémy Grossmann (13 m², Arthur: Malediction), the film’s cast is led by Kiefer Sutherland, Al Pacino, and Ever Anderson, as previously announced.
Set in 1990s Manhattan, Father Joe follows a priest (Sutherland) who takes justice into his own hands to confront the city’s criminal underworld. Production began mid-October in Paris and is continuing in Bulgaria this month.
The film is produced by LB Production and Besson’s EuropaCorp, as well as Sutherland. Kinology is handling international sales, with CAA Media Finance handling domestic.
Coming off projects like Nonnas and The Alto Knights, as well as parts on Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Billions, Rispoli is repped by Gersh and Principal Entertainment LA.
Melamed’s recent credits include HBO’s Barry, Easy’s Waltz from True Detective‘s Nic Pizzolatto, and the Sundance-premiering Little Death, among others. He is repped by Innovative Artists and Haven Entertainment.
Recently seen on shows like Power Book IV: Force, Gravesend and Younger, Tardio is repped by Bret Adams Agency and Zero Gravity Management.
Most recently at work on Amazon MGM’s I Play Rocky, Palladino has had major roles on such series as Godfather of Harlem, NCIS: Los Angeles, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, also appearing in Skincare opposite Elizabeth Banks. He is repped by Greene Talent, Coronel Group, and Davoli Law Firm.
