According to a source, Taylor Frankie Paul’s ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, was spotted “flirting” with actor and model Brooks Nader at the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season three launch party, as they seemingly “le[ft] together.” Around the same time, Dakota recalled a terrifying moment off-camera when he thought he was going to “relapse and possibly die.”
Recently, Taylor announced she was picked to be the next Bachelorette, and she revealed that she and Dakota (her youngest child’s father) were over for good. Well before the announcement, Taylor shared that they broke up but were still sleeping together. Dakota, however, said frequently that he hoped to reconcile.
“[I] was at the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3 launch party at the Plaza hotel in NY last [night],” wrote a source to Deuxmoi on Instagram. “Dakota was there (not Taylor because she’s filming Bachelorette), and the 4 Nader sisters came.”
“Brooks was flirting with Dakota the whole time,” the source added. “They stayed until the end of the party, and Dakota and Brooks definitely seemed like they were leaving together.”
Around the same time on Recoverycast, Dakota addressed a scary moment off-camera.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever shared this, but there was a point where I was like in a hotel room, and I remember I was so scared that I was gonna relapse and possibly die that I remember I wrote my son like a goodbye letter,” said Dakota, choking up. “Things like that, like nobody has a clue … It’s like, ‘Why are you in a hotel room?’ Like you know, there’s so much to it.”
“It was just pushing me to that ultimate limit … I’ve never been tested more in my entire life,” he continued. “If there was ever a time for me to relapse like seven million times, this would have been the time. And so knowing that I’ve made it through all of this, it’s also gave me this incredible sense of strength.”
According to Dakota, the thought of his son helped him in that moment.
“He did. That’s why it was it was so weird. It was weird that I even felt like I needed to do that. It was almost like a safety thing I was doing of like, ‘I don’t want to leave him without anything.’ … Like if something bad happens to me, I need to make sure he at least knows how much I love him.”
