Is there going to be a true Council of Doctor Doom? Variants of the villain sit at the center of a new report about the upcoming Marvel Studios movie Avengers: Doomsday.
The question of variants has been one plaguing Avengers: Doomsday. The concept has been so integral to the Multiverse Saga and its stories up to this point. However, the rumor mill has basically been silent on the concept when it comes to the upcoming film. This is especially true when it comes to Doctor Doom, who seemed to be devoid of variants.
That is, until recently, when the rumor mill decided to spill every report about Doctor Doom’s variants all at once. While a number of scoopers have reported on there being multiple versions of the villain present during the events of Avengers: Doomsday, The Hot Mic host John Rocha is one of the first to give details about what these variants might look like.
“This person says to me – and this person is pretty reliable – you can mention there are at least two female Doctor Dooms, one with a purple cloak and golden mask, and the other with a gold cloak and a mask, and there are other Dooms too, male ones….So, there are gonna be multiple people playing Doctor Doom variants in the film.”
Who Will Play The Doctor Doom Variants In Avengers: Doomsday?
Whenever the topic of potential Doctor Doom variants in Avengers: Doomsday does come up, most generally accept that they’ll all be played by Robert Downey Jr. However, that may not be the case. Continuing on with his rumor, John Rocha suggests that other key members of the cast may be picking up the torch of Doctor Doom throughout the film.
“And there are other Doctor Dooms that we’re going to see. So maybe some of the other characters that have been cast as different characters are going to be playing different Doctor Dooms from different universes.”
Of course, when it comes to variants, there’s infinite room for speculation about who could be playing Doctor Doom variants. Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and more all top the list of big Avengers: Doomsday cast members who could make a splash as Doctor Doom. However, it’s likely fans won’t know the true extent of his until the film comes out.
