Claressa Shields Calls Out Relatives For Spreading False Tea Online
In a recent livestream, Claressa Shields clapped back at rumors her cousin and sister have apparently been spreading online. In one clip LiveBitez shared, the boxing champ told Shalita, her cousin, to stop telling people she’s her surrogate. Then she called out her sister, Briana, for allegedly setting up a GoFundMe, even though she allegedly doesn’t need the money. Shields called both situations “embarrassing” and made it clear her sister and her sister’s kids are well taken care of. “Now y’all trying to get my sister to make a GoFundMe to make it look like I moved her to Atlanta and just abandoned her […] when that never happened.”
Claressa also said she believes “family will do you the worst.” She thinks folks are spreading rumors about her just to bring her down since she’s doing good now.
“It’s just weird that people will go around lying, trying to make you look a certain way, because you look so good now. I’m really flourishing,” Shields added.
Claressa’s Alleged Cousin Responds & Drags Her Online For Lack Of Support
Claressa’s cousin didn’t waste any time responding to her livestream. She even called Claressa’s newly signed $8 million multi-fight deal with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records fake. Claresa made history earlier this month when she signed the deal and kicked off her rap career with Papoose by her side. Shalita thinks Claressa is only looking out for herself instead of worrying about why her sister actually needed the GoFundMe. She added that she’s tired of coming to Claressa’s defense. Every time Claressa does something for her family, Shalita ends up having to repair the damage.
More About Claressa’s BIG Boxing-Music Deal
Despite the shade and rumors, Claressa stays focused on securing her bags. Along with her $8 million deal, she’s making history as the first athlete signed to Wynn Records, blending music and boxing. Shields has been teasing her rap career for a minute, dropping freestyle snippets on social media. Fans actually got a taste of her skills when she dropped some bars on BET’s new ‘106 & Sports’ series in October.
