Paola Jara & Jessi Uribe Welcome Baby Girl

Música popular power couple Paola Jara and Jessi Uribe welcomed baby girl Emilia, the singers shared on social media. “One more reason to look up to the sky and thank God for His great kindness,” they wrote in a joint post on Instagram. The birth of their first baby together follows Jara’s first-ever Grammy nomination for Sin Rodeos, up for best música mexicana album (including tejano). Jara makes history as the first música popular female artist to compete in the category. Uribe made history last year as the first música popular artist to be nominated in that same category.

Rauw Alejandro’s Education Initiative

Last week, Rauw Alejandro carried out an educational initiative in ten schools in Puerto Rico, according to a press release, where students from various communities received an introduction to the history of bomba and participated in a dance class. The Puerto Rican star was not in attendance but surprised the students with a video message, inspiring a new generation to feel proud of their roots.

Nicki Nicole Gets Emotional

Nicki Nicole couldn’t help but get teary-eyed as she shared the stage with Andrew Bocelli in her native Argentina. Nicki sang “Vivo Por Ella” with Bocelli, his 1995 song originally recorded with fellow Italian artist Giorgia. In what seemed like a pinch-me-moment for Nicki, she expressed a heartfelt message after their duet. “I’m really very excited. I can’t believe it. Let’s give him a round of applause because he’s a legend and it’s an honor to be here. Thank you.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber Praises LUX

Andrew Lloyd Webber took to social media to praise Rosalía’s latest album, calling it “brilliant.” The English composer (Phantom of the Opera) went on to say that he had listened to the LP for about the fifth time and that it could be “the album of the decade so far.” He goes on to complement her vocals and that the set is “truly musical.” Adding, “It’s got all of these different tempi … it’s got all sorts of exciting sounds.”

Rosalía took to the comments section to thank Lloyd Webber for his positive review. “Thank you, maestro. I’m going to cry. God bless you and your wonderful compositions!”
