The iconic Bravo series Shahs of Sunset is returning with a reboot. This time, the show is called The Valley: Persian Style. Mercedes “MJ” Javid is one of the several cast members fans are excited to see. Recently, she opened up about her divorce from Tommy Feight.
Mercedes and Tommy tied the knot in 2018 after meeting three years prior. They share one son. Sadly, their divorce was announced on October 17, 2025. This was also their date of separation. Regarding The Valley: Persian Style, the trailer was released during BravoCon 2025.
Mercedes spoke to E! News about her divorce while at BravoCon. She said, “I love him. We’re always going to be family and I think the future is going to be really positive for all of us, Tommy, me Shams. Everyone.”
She then spoke to the outlet about the upcoming reboot, saying, “nothing is off limits.” She continued, “We won’t let each other get away with that. We gotta face everything.”
Mercedes also gave an interview to US Weekly during BravoCon about how she’s coping with going through a divorce. She revealed, “Thank God, I’m gonna keep it very positive.” She added, “I feel like, of course, it’s a difficult thing, but we’re gonna be good. It’s very, very new and raw. So I’m still, like, processing like 99 percent of it as we speak.”
Additionally, she told the outlet that she wasn’t pursuing a hookup during the convention. She said, “Are you kidding me? I’m married right now. We are just doing baby steps — things like [being] separated, new homes. That kind of thing.”
In other MJ news, she spoke to Housewives Nightcap on the red carpet about a run-in with Kate Chatain. Reza Farahan started, “Last night, we had some drama, but it’s settled down and we’re good now.”
The interviewer then asked for details, leading Mercedes to say, “I’m gonna tell you- Golnesa got annoyed by somebody named Kate Chastain. Have you heard of her?”
Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi then chimed in, “I’m a big girl. We all know I can handle myself, and it was just, you know, it was a bad miscommunication, and I think everyone knows where they stand.” She then said she had “no interest” in squashing their beef.”
Golnesa added, “I think she started it, and I’m not the one to do that with so welcoming the invitation.”
