My Chemical Romance have secured a drool-worthy slate of opening acts for their summer 2026 European stadium shows, which begin June 30 in Liverpool, England, with support from Echo & the Bunnymen.

From there, Idlewild will open July 4 in Glasgow, while Skunk Anansie (July 8), Joan Jett (July 10) and Sunny Day Real Estate (July 11) will get things started at London’s sold-out Wembley Stadium. Interpol supports on July 15 in Florence and Mogwai will go first on July 18 in Madrid.

For Sunny Day Real Estate, this is believed to be the biggest venue the beloved and influential Seattle post-hardcore band has ever played since forming in 1992.

Per MCR guitarist Frank Iero, “I discovered Sunny Day Real Estate when I was in eighth grade before I had started singing in a band. At the time, all I did was listen to punk and hardcore, so when I heard the songs and the melodies, it cracked my mind right open in the best way. They were heavy without being aggressive, but heavy in the sense of covering an emotional spectrum that I had not yet figured out how to express. In a lot of ways, I feel like they gave me permission to sound the way I do and feel the way I do. I’ve been trying to replicate that feeling in all the music I’ve made ever since.”

My Chemical Romance already announced an equally eclectic group of openers for next year’s North American shows, including Franz Ferdinand, Pierce the Veil, Modest mouse, Iggy Pop, the Breeders, Babymetal, Jimmy Eat World and the Mars Volta. That leg of the tour kicks off Aug. 9 at New York’s Citi Field and will conclude with five nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
