Sadie Sink may not be playing who fans expect in Spider-Man: Brand New Day! The actress recently commented on the viral rumors that she’ll be taking on the role of Jean Grey.
Ever since it was revealed that Sadie Sink would be taking on an undisclosed role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the rumor mill has been working overtime to figure out what character she’ll be playing. While dozens of names have been floated at this point, perhaps the most well-known is the idea that she’ll be playing the iconic X-Men member Jean Grey.
Quite a lot of big names, including Joseph Quinn himself, have spoken about the rumors. However, with Sadie Sink now doing her press tour for the new season of Stranger Things, journalists have finally had the chance to ask her about her role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. And sadly, it seems that it isn’t Jean Grey.
“That was happening before I even knew that I would be working on this project,” Sink told Entertainment Weekly when asked about the Jean Grey rumor. “I was like, ‘Wait! What are people talking about?’”
Who Is Sadie Sink Playing In Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
The deconfirmation of the Jean Grey rumor didn’t do much to narrow down speculation, as there are half a dozen other characters that people think she could be playing. However, Sadie Sink did at least tip her hand a bit when it came to her role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, suggesting that she may not have red hair in the final product.
“A lot of people forget that hair color can change, but, yeah, I understand all of the theories.”
The idea that her character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day won’t have red hair actually debunks a lot of theories. Not just Jean Grey, but other popular characters like Firestar. The rumor mill still has some tricks up its sleeve, but fans may have to wait until the film is released to discover who Sadie Sink will be playing.
