The alleged details about Ryan Reynolds’ confrontation with Justin Baldoni at the former’s New York City home come from emails from Wayfarer Studios co-founder Jamey Heath’s team to Baldoni’s publicist (via PEOPLE).
The documents reveal that Baldoni went to Reynolds and Lively’s New York City penthouse in April 2023. There, the Deadpool star “unloaded” on Baldoni about “how horrible it was” for him to ask a woman her weight. Blake Lively had accused Baldoni of fat-shaming her. As per the documents, Baldoni was “completely embarrassed and apologized and even shared some tears.”
In an interesting twist, the documents claimed that the couple’s famous friends, Hugh Jackman and Taylor Swift, were also present at the time.
When Lively filed the case against Baldoni, her legal team identified Jackman and Swift as potential witnesses. Jackman has publicly backed Lively since, but Taylor Swift has maintained her distance. Swift has actively tried to remove her name from the feud and even released a statement reiterating her lack of involvement.
Taylor Swift’s team released a statement on her behalf, saying, “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie. She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”
The case will go to trial in March 2026.
