Are fans getting a whole new Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Doomsday? The latest rumor reveals that a very different variant of the heroine will make their debut.
Out of all the characters not confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, fans have been the most anxious waiting for details on the Scarlet Witch. Despite the character being dead, it’s almost certain she shows up in the project due to how big she has become in the fandom. The only question is: Will they resurrect her, or will she be a variant?
While it’s certainly possible that Avengers: Doomsday will do both, the rumor mill recently revealed new details on a variant of the mutant that will appear in the film. Scooper James Mack reveals that a “Good and heroic” version of the Scarlet Witch will be present in the X-Men universe. While he remarks that he’s unsure whether or not this variant will be played by Elizabeth Olsen, odds are more likely than not that she continues playing the role.
Scarlet Witch’s New Costume In Avengers: Doomsday
However, it seems that Avengers: Doomsday won’t just be giving the Scarlet Witch a new variant. Continuing on, Mack explains that the heroine will also be receiving a new costume. And while the MCU has slowly been inching toward giving her a comic-accurate look, it seems this latest outfit will be throwing itself head-first into the source material.
“She’s wearing a tight, long red dress that goes down to her legs, red gloves, and her signature headpiece.”
It’s possible that Avengers: Doomsday is setting up this variant to be the main version of the Scarlet Witch going forward, especially as the MCU is barreling toward the Mutant Saga. It would make sense to switch out the villainous take on the character for a much more heroic, comic-accurate version which is also a mutant.
