The readers have spoken and the results are in!

In first place we have Ethan Hawke who plays Lee Raybon on The Lockdown.

Ethan Hawke delivers one of his most emotionally complex performances yet in episode 7 (“Tulsa Turnaround”) of The Lowdown, embodying Lee Raybon’s unraveling with raw vulnerability and simmering intensity. Ethan Hawke’s work in episode 7 is the emotional fulcrum of The Lowdown—a performance that interrogates morality, purpose, and identity, all while keeping us in suspense. It stands out as a pivotal turn in his portrayal of Lee Raybon.Hawke’s portrayal of Lee centers on a man at the breaking point—torn between his crusade for truth and his role as a father. When Lee rushes to a parent-teacher meeting only to find his daughter Francis bonding with her potential stepdad, Hawke captures his gut-wrenching realization through subtle shifts in demeanor—his pain, pride, and guilt all coalescing in a moment of silent heartbreak.

In second place we have Keri Russell as Kate Wyler on The Diplomat.

Russell expertly shows the duality of Kate’s role: a public diplomat and a woman in personal turmoil. Her exchanges with other delegates—aesthetic tipping between composed façade and emotional fatigue—resonate deeply, capturing the episode’s collision of global policy and marital stress. As the U.S. and U.K. delegations engage in delicate negotiations, Russell’s portrayal of Kate anchors the scene. She exudes authority and control—especially during tense moments at Chevening House—while subtly revealing the strain of her private life.

In third place we have Karen Pittman as Mia Jordan on The Morning Show

Episode 3 centers on Mia’s long-awaited interview for Head of News at UBN—a role she’s worked toward for seasons. Early indications show her hope and determination, contrasted with growing tension as her day unravels. Pittman visibly portrays Mia’s ambition and pressure: from her breathy, rehearsed elevator pep-talk, to the intensity in her gaze and posture as she prepares. These moments beautifully signal both confidence and simmering anxiety.

Please join us in the comments and on social media in celebrating winner Ethan Hawke as well as the incredible runner-ups. Ethan Hawke has secured a place in the 2025 Performer of the Year competition that will take place at the end of January 2026. Please note that this means he will not be eligible to win again this year so place your future votes and nominations wisely.
