Supergirl is making some pretty big changes tot he Woman of Tomorrow! The film’s first teaser is hinting at an out-of-this-world trailer.
For months, fans have been chewing at the bars of their enclosure waiting for any news they could get about Supergirl. The film has been essentially silent after the production dropped the Woman of Tomorrow subtitle. Though, given when fans got their first trailer for Superman, there was hope that a teaser would drop before the end of this year.
And that hope was rightfully placed. This past weekend, the official social media accounts for the Supergirl film revealed a small teaser. The footage shows Kara waiting in civilian clothes at a bus stop as a space ship comes to pick her up. It also revealed that a trailer was coming “soon,” alongside a new logo for the Woman of Tomorrow’s debut feature.

How Supergirl Changes The Woman Of Tomorrow
Perhaps the most notable change in this teaser is that Supergirl is wearing civilian clothes. And while fans will have to wait for the trailer to see how much of the film she spends outside of her costume, the word on the street is that she may be in jeans and a t-shirt for most of the movie. This would be a major departure from the Woman of Tomorrow comic, where she was almost always in her suit.
However, this may be for the best. The Woman of Tomorrow comic, in many ways, is about a traditionally “heroic” character entering a much darker world. The Supergirl in the DC Universe is already rough around the edges. What this teaser shows, and the trailer will likely confirm, is that the journey Milly Alcock’s take on the character will go on is going to be much different than the original comic book.
Supergirl is set to release on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe!
