Zac Brown Sparks Controversy About His ‘Satanic-Like Ritual’ Set

Fans and social media users are voicing shock and outrage over Zac Brown’s concert’s high-tech visual display, with many labeling the imagery as “demonic” and even suggesting the performance resembled a “satanic-like ritual.”

The country singer is performing his residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, a massive, next-gen entertainment venue known for its stunning exterior LED screen and immersive interior experience, featuring cutting-edge 16K resolution displays and Sphere Immersive Sound.

However, it appeared the experience got too real for many, as some felt the stage he was singing on resembled the depths of hell.

Concert goers also got to experience a massive skeleton wearing a crown, with huge flames of fire covering the bottom part of the stage.

Several fans took to the comment section of his post to share how disturbing it was for them.

“Me thinking I went to hear about beer and fried chicken and suddenly in hell and a part of a ritual,” an Instagram user penned.

“Dark and evil,” another said. “Be the light in the darkness instead of ushering in darkness and evil. This just makes me so sad.”

A section of fans quipped that he has “sold his soul,” while another said it was “cringey and desperate looking.”

One fan added, “You lost me, a big fan! You’ve crossed into the demonic realm like way too many artists. Never thought I’d see this from a great country band! It’s a damn shame!”

Meanwhile, other fans stood up for him, describing how they had so much fun at the concert.

“From someone who was actually there, thank you for giving me the best day of my life. The show was incredible and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise,” another added.

Zac Brown Won’t Stop Breaking Boundaries

After kicking off his run of shows at the Sphere on December 5, Brown would next play on the 12th and 13th of this month, and also has other dates in January.

He explained that he wouldn’t want his imagination to deprive him of sharing what truly matters to the kids.

“The biggest surprise of prepping for the Sphere is realizing your only limitation is your imagination,” he told USA TODAY.

He continued, “This is the most ambitious show we’ve ever attempted, but it’s the perfect canvas for our music. We’re most excited to share how these songs feel when the entire room is part of the mood. The fans don’t just watch the show, they’re in the show with us. Everything.

Performing at the Sphere seemingly cost Brown and his team a fortune, as a source shared he was “going into debt.”

“It’s a big moment in time, and it’s like, for us, I want to be among the names of the Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stones and the bands that take that lifelong career impact fan journey to be able to do that,” Brown said earlier this year.

“This is our statement to try to step into that,” he added.

“I’ve never put more work in anything in my life, or invested as much,” and “If you want to do something extraordinary, it requires an extraordinary effort.”

“This is our opportunity to raise the bar for everything that we’re doing,” the singer continued. “We’re one of the guinea pigs in the middle of it, and as ambitious a show as we’re trying to put on… I think people’s expectations are going to be really blown.”
