The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are heading to Greece! Angie‘s last trip was on an RV, so it could only get better, right?! As long as everyone behaves themselves and does not bring up the past over and over again, things will be great.
However, the bickering starts from the jump and ends with Heather going after Meredith. Accountability and apologizing are two things that seem to be amiss within the group.
To celebrate Angie’s application for her Greek citizenship, she has invited the ladies to come to Greece for the week. To prepare, Angie has her dad and aunt over to help Mary and Heather dive into the culture and learn a few key words and phrases. You know, things like “snooze fest” and “you have no manners,” stuff that is clearly directed at Lisa and Meredith.
When the group and their thousands of bags arrive at the airport, Angie directs the women by waving Greek flags, whilst dressed as a Greek flag. Her daughter, Elektra, has got to be cringing watching her mom make being Greek her entire personality.
Mary has been to Greece before Lisa and just hopes that after this trip, Angie will quit yapping about Greece. Heather is thrilled to be immersed in a new culture. She aims to smoke a Greek cigarette, get a tattoo, and snag some Greek men’s phone numbers. But not everyone is happy-go-lucky. Whitney is still steering clear of Bronwyn, considering Bronwyn’s ability to keep secrets is not the best.
They waste no time once they land and head directly to dinner. Angie is in heaven being with her girls in her most favorite place. They chat about filler, Botox, and all the things you can do to fix your face.
Heather flaunts her new bling, a fresh Cartier watch. She snagged one for Whitney and one for herself during a duty-free shopping spree. The real drive to get this watch points back to Lisa. During the layover, Lisa claimed that Angie copied her Cartier watch and so, Heather was hoping to rile Lisa up by purchasing them to remind Lisa she is not original.
Angie thinks that Lisa walks about like a snob and reminds her that people own nice things. Angie points out that this is not a competition, but claims she had all of the best stuff before Lisa. Lisa believes that Angie is a jealous, competitive person, but Angie wonders why Lisa is so worried about her things. Luckily, the bickering ends in laughter because let’s be real- this is a ridiculous fight.
The next morning, Lisa has luckily found some glam since she never goes out without being completely done up. As she primps, Heather wonders if she can ever forgive Meredith after she called Heather a liar.
Meredith HAS been trying to connect with Heather in hopes of finding some resolve, but Heather is not giving Meredith anything. Meredith feels as though there was a misunderstanding in the whole “liar” comment that allegedly hurt Heather’s feelings. She wants to address it all with Heather one-on-one so as not to get everyone involved.
The day’s outing is to a beautiful black sand beach. They are greeted with drinks and Mary analyzes face shapes in only a way that Mary can. During lunch, Angie half-jokes if Bronwyn is looking to get some Grecian men phone numbers. Bronwyn acts appalled to be asked something like this and claims to be in a “super happy” marriage with Todd.
However, the last time we heard about Todd, he was sleeping at a hotel after looking at inappropriate pics of other women on an airplane. Heather wonders if Bronwyn was putting on a ruse by intentionally not wearing her wedding ring. Bronwyn put out all the dirty stuff about her and Todd and is now backpedaling, leaving the women wondering WTF.
Mary reminds Bronwyn that what she originally said came across as trouble in the marriage, but now Bronwyn calls their questioning “weird.” Bronwyn states that she doesn’t have to explain anything that happens in her home and Meredith decides to support Bronwyn. She knows from past experience that these women are not going to drop this topic…
They return back to the villa and prepare for evening shopping and dinner. Heather comes in for a closed-door conversation with Mary to chat about Meredith. Heather feels like Meredith makes cutting comments to her and she is sick of Meredith moving on like nothing has happened. Heather is not interested in a private conversation because she feels as though Meredith will contort the information to make herself look favorable.
The whole gang is ready to go…except for Lisa, who is still stuck in glam. Interesting what she values more than friend time.
On the walk there, Whitney legit wipes out and gets saved by a heroic passerby-lol. The time ticks on and Lisa winds up being nearly 3 hours late…and she rolls up in sunglasses, to boot! So much for all that glam.
While shopping, Meredith tells Mary that she tried to make things right with Heather. In fact, she called Heather the week before and Heather has yet to call her back. Meredith further states that she has even reached out to Heather again today, but it seems like Heather does not want to address the hurt. Mary suggests that both Meredith and Heather open up and try to figure out how to mend their friendship.
When they come back together as a group, it’s for a dinner nestled in a cliffside restaurant with a view to kill. As a peace offering, Meredith gifts Heather an evil eye, but Heather is not ready for gifts to magically make their friendship go back to normal. Heather is still hurt that Meredith called her a liar and the tension is thick.
Mary breaks the ice, and NOW Heather is ready to talk about her issues with Meredith…in front of the whole group. However, Meredith is not biting. She lets Heather know she will not be addressing their issues as a group because she does not want them all coming after her.
Heather claims that Meredith “assassinated her character” by calling her a liar and Meredith’s “stone wall of denial” is blowing her mind. But if they both apologized, then why are they still talking about it?
Heather “felt like” Meredith called her a liar, but Lisa jumps in to remind Heather that she does not hold herself to her own friendship standards. It’s time that Heather practices what she preaches, but Heather wants Lisa to stop speaking for Meredith. Heather feels like Meredith has “selective outrage” when she gets mad at friend, but Meredith does not agree.
Meredith wonders why Heather would want to hold a grudge against her and Lisa feels like Heather does things that are hurtful to her, as well. Heather apologizes and def gets caught doing exactly what she claims Meredith does to her. Lisa wonders to Heather, “If your friends are experiencing hurt, why would you turn your back on friends?”
No one is the judge and jury on how to be a great friend, but as Whitney watches her friends fight, she realizes that it all stems from the way Meredith treated Britani on the plane. What Whitney doesn’t realize is that Meredith and Britani already made up, soooo there is no reason to bring this up again. But, Whitney wonders how if Meredith is the one that messed up, why are they all paying for it?
Meredith is sick of Whitney’s pot stirring and Whitney tells Meredith that she is the “problem right now.” Meredith claims that everyone at the table has done things probably much worse and she excuses herself.
Heather claims that having an opinion once again got her in trouble and Bronwyn reminds Heather that, “just because it wasn’t received, doesn’t mean you were wrong to say it.” Heather feels like she is not important enough in Meredith’s friendship and time will tell if they can turn this Greece trip around.
