It’s official. Bronwyn Newport and Todd Bradley have split after nine years of marriage.
Following a report in which it was alleged that Bronwyn, 40, had announced their split at last week’s taping of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion after feeling unsupported in her marriage, Bronwyn’s rep confirmed the breakup.
“After thoughtful consideration, Bronwyn Newport and Todd Bradley have separated,” the rep told PEOPLE in a December 12 statement. “This was a mutual decision made with care and respect for one another. They ask for privacy during this time.”
An insider also confirmed to Page Six that the Bravo couple is indeed “headed for divorce.”
Days prior, the MCFP (Mary Cosby Fan Page) told its followers on X that “Bronwyn announced at the reunion that her and Todd were [separating],” and weeks before, a Reddit user spoke of the reason behind the split.
“Bronwyn and Todd are divorcing. Bronwyn has been talking to attorneys and has let Todd know she wants out. She was in NYC last week and told him then that she had been meeting with a lawyer and he needed to as well,” the Redditor alleged. “[Bronwyn wants to end her marriage] not because of anything we have seen on the show, but because of how unsupportive [Todd] is of her being on the show, and doing the red carpets, writing her upcoming book etc.”
According to another report, from Radar Online, Bronwyn and Todd’s decision to part ways “is truly not shocking.”
“This shouldn’t come as any surprise,” a source said. “[Bronwyn] is disgusted by what she’s been seeing on TV [from Todd] … He’s coming off badly.”
As RHOSLC fans have seen, Bronwyn has been open about her and Todd’s marital challenges throughout the sixth season of the show, admitting that they had a complicated dynamic amid cheating rumors.
“The real truth is that my relationship is just as hard as everybody else’s in its own ways and has had its very low lows that were very hard for me,” she said in a confessional. “This is a side of me that these ladies haven’t yet seen, but I want them to understand that I bleed the same way that they all do. I cry about things, and that side of me is there if they’re open to it.”
Bronwyn also noted that Todd had admitted that being in a perpetual state of not being satisfied was his “fatal flaw.” She also shared that, despite the cheating reports, she chose to stay in her marriage after Todd offered an apology and gave her a gift “that had five diamonds, and he made me five new promises to match each of the diamonds.”
Still, she confirmed she was insecure in her marriage.
“There is always going to be a lump in the back of my throat that if I’m not super supportive, I’m not super there, if I’m not super caring, if I’m not physically there, it’s not always gonna be the same,” she confessed. “I adore Todd. I live and breathe by what Todd says to me, and I think I mean as much to Todd as any person can mean to him. But I think Todd means more to me than I mean to him.”
The couple did not have a prenup.
