This video game adaptation debuted in April 2024 to such a positive response that Amazon fast-tracked season 2 to bring it back as quickly as possible.

When Will ‘Fallout’ Season 2, Episode 1 Premiere?
Fallout season 2, episode 1, was originally supposed to premiere on December 17. However, the premiere has since been moved up to now. You can watch episode 1 here.

Fallout season 2 will be available to stream on Prime Video. The entire first season is also available to watch.
Will There Be a ‘Fallout’ Season 3?
Yes. The series has already been renewed for season 3.
Can You Watch ‘Fallout’ Season 2 for Free?
Technically, yes. But if you go that route, you may want to wait. Prime Video does offer a 30-day free trial for new users, but since there will be new episodes of Fallout weekly through February 4, 2026, it’s better to wait until we’re within a month of that date.
What Happened in ‘Fallout’ Season 1?
The show introduced fans to Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), a young woman who lived in Vault 33 her entire life. When raiders infiltrated the vault and kidnapped her father, Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan), Lucy broke protocol and entered the Wasteland to find him. Along the way, Lucy crossed paths with Maximus (Aaron Moten), a squire among the Brotherhood of Steel who was masquerading as a knight. Both of them ran afoul of The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), a horribly mutated man who was once Hollywood actor Cooper Howard before the nukes devastated the world two hundred years earlier.

Lucy and Maximus grew close, and he allowed her to escape and returned to face the Brotherhood’s punishment for his crime against them. To his surprise, Maximus was welcomed back into their ranks and he was given the title of a knight. As for Lucy, she finally caught up with the raiders who took her father, and they revealed that Hank was personally responsible for the death of Lucy’s mother and an entire city. The Ghoul also arrived at Lucy’s showdown and demanded to know where his family was.
When Maximus and the Brotherhood attacked the raiders’ headquarters, Hank used the opportunity to slip away. The Ghoul offered Lucy a chance to go with him as they pursued Hank, who was last seen heading for New Vegas.
What’s Going to Happen in ‘Fallout’ Season 2?

Story details are still largely under wraps for the new season. But The Ghoul and Lucy’s partnership will be explored, and the series will explore the ruins of Las Vegas, as seen in the 2010 video game Fallout: New Vegas.
Is There a Trailer for ‘Fallout’ Season 2?
Yes, and it offers a quick look at the dynamic between Lucy and the Ghoul going forward. At some point, he’s going to open up and reveal that he’s been looking for his family for 200 years. There are also hints of a Civil War brewing with the Brotherhood, and some of the mad science conducted by Hank.

There are eight episodes in Fallout season 2.
Who’s Joined the Cast of ‘Fallout’ Season 2?
The two biggest names joining the cast this season are Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani. We don’t know who they’re playing yet, but Nanjiani’s character is seen in the trailer interacting with the Brotherhood. Another new addition this season is The Leftovers‘ Justin Theroux, who is taking over the role of RobCo Industries CEO from Rafi Silver, who played the part last season.
Moisés Arias will reprise his role as Lucy’s brother, Norm MacLean. The rest of the returning cast can be seen below:
