Are the Young Avengers in Avengers: Doomsday? The latest rumor teases that the team could have an interesting future in the MCU’s next projects.
The Young Avengers are a lot like Mephisto: teased in quite a few MCU projects, but never quite finding their way into any of them. Yet unlike everyone’s favorite devil, the team of adolescent heroes has yet to assemble on the silver screen. This has left many fans to wonder if Avengers: Doomsday may finally be the time they unite.
A new rumor from MyTimeToShineHello seems to confirm just that. The scooper suggests that the Young Avengers will appear in both Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. The cameo is also meant to serve as an introduction to the characters for general audiences, setting up for the team to get their own series in the next phase of the MCU.
Who Are The Young Avengers?
While the MCU has a very different depiction of the Young Avengers from the comics, they maintain the general idea of young, scrappy heroes taking on the role of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The only “confirmed” members of the team are Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton). However, it’s likely that characters such as Wiccan, Speed, and America Chavez join them in Avengers: Doomsday.
Given how packed the cast of Avengers: Doomsday already is, it’s not likely that the team will have more than a small cameo in the film. Since they’re only getting a show and not a movie, it seems that Marvel isn’t relying on them to carry the next phase of the MCU, and rather sees them as a supplemental team for younger audiences.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
