Deadpool and Spider-Man are finally getting a team-up! A new report about Avengers: Doomsday suggests that the Merc with a Mouth might team up with an unexpected variant of the hero.
For nearly a decade, fans have been begging to see Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Daredevil share the screen together. And while two members of Team Red managed to team-up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Deadpool has been left on the wayside due to corporate chicanery. Though with Avengers: Doomsday just on the horizon, fans are hoping that things may change.
While Deadpool has yet to be officially confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, the rumor mill has all but confirmed that the character will appear. And given that Marvel would literally be burning money by not including Spider-Man in the film, it’s basically a bygone conclusion in the minds of fans that the two will finally interact on the silver screen.
Deadpool’s Shocking Spider-Friend
Yet it seems that it may not be the Spider-Man variant fans want to see with Deadpool. Perhaps the number one variant of the web-head fans want to see team-up with the Merc with a Mouth is Andrew Garfield (albeit that’s mostly for shipping reasons), with Tom Holland following closely behind. Though in a rumor from scooper MyTimeToShineHello, it’s revealed that he’ll actually be spending most of Avengers: Doomsday with Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man.
Of course, if this rumor is to be believed, this team-up is more of a byproduct of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine hanging out with both Deadpool and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man than the two being purposefully paired for Avengers: Doomsday. Though, while this may not be the team-up fans wanted, it’s certainly going to be an amazing one to see!
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
