Taylor Sheridan‘s hit series Landman has given viewers a lot to be thankful for — starting with the iconic Norris family dinners.
Inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast series, Landman is focused on the West Texas oil industry with a specific focus on crisis executive Tommy Norris and his family. The Paramount+ show, which premiered in 2024, introduced Billy Bob Thornton as the corporate fixer working for an oil titan.
Tommy’s (Thornton) life outside of work including wife Angela (Ali Larter), daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), son Cooper (Jacob Lofland), dad T.L. (Sam Elliott) and coworkers-turned-roommates Dale (James Jordan) and Nathan (Colm Feore).
Like every family, the Norris’ found time to sit down for dinner together, which always turns into an event.
“Editors really help us on that,” Lofland exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2025 about trying not to laugh while filming the over-the-topic scenes. “There’s plenty of takes where you’ll catch yourself smiling or almost laughing. You can’t help it, because you’re just watching this happen in front of you.”

The Original Italian Dinner

In season 1, Angela introduced Us to Norris family dinner with a three-meat bolognese — including wild boar. She paired the meal with French wine but it was ultimately ruined after an argument with Tommy.
A Night in Spain

When Angela prepared paella, it was confused for jambalaya. The drama continued when Tommy complained about not getting a plate for his meal.
Breaking Dishes

To celebrate Ainsley getting into college, Angela hosted a dinner that featured cacio e pepe shaved white truffles — for $2800. The gathering came to an end when Tommy brought up Angela’s period, which led to her throwing everything off the table.
Chain Gang-Inspired

Fans didn’t get to see the actual meal but Angela suggested sloppy joes after nearly being arrested.
The Pirate Dinner

Tommy walked in on a dinner straight out of Pirates of the Caribbean — with Rebecca (Kayla Wallace) joining in on the seafood boil.
Taco Night

While everyone else got to enjoy custom tacos, Tommy had to grovel first after Angela initially only made him an omelette as punishment for a past fight.
Ballgame Theme

Angela and Ainsley celebrated a successful day at the casino with hot dogs for the whole family.
