Venezuelans in America are feeling torn as some feel optimistic while praising President Donald Trump for capturing its leader Nicolás Maduro and “freeing” the country from 20+ years of “dictatorship.” However, other Venezuelans in America, along with allies, are condemning Trump’s capture of Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, and denounce war and the U.S.’s occupation of the country.

Donald Trump Captures Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro And Wife, Places Them In NYC Jail
As previously shared, early Saturday morning (January 3), U.S. Forces carried out several strikes across key locations in Venezuela. During the military operation, President Maduro and his wife were captured, placed on a plane, and removed from their country to face narcoterrorism conspiracy charges early next week in New York City.
Maduro and his wife touched down at Stewart Airport in Orange County, New York. Accompanying the couple were several DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) agents. The officials then took the couple to a DEA field office in Manhattan for processing.
Officials then transferred The Maduros to the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC Brooklyn). This is the same jail that housed El Chapo, Diddy, Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, Luigi Mangione, Sam Bankman Fried, Michael Cohen, and many more celebrities as they awaited federal trials.

Venezuelans In America React To Donald Trump Capturing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro And Wife
Those celebrating Maduro’s capture have explained that they are happy their people are free of his regime. A regime that has reportedly caused Venezuelans to starve, face poverty, abuse, corruption, and to flee the country in droves, escaping for a better life abroad.
On the flip side, Venezuelans in America say they and their families back home feel torn. They are finally “free,” but they also realize that how Trump “freed” them is potentially illegal.
Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio both denied needing congressional approval to attack Venezuelan officials and capture its leader — whom Venezuelans claim they never officially elected as president.
The actions the Trump administration took can set a precedent for future leaders to storm other countries and do what they want — which is as Trump claimed with his statement of the United States “running” Venezuela until the country elects a favorable president through democracy.
