A24 has shared the official trailer for The Death of Robin Hood, the upcoming gritty and dark reimagining of the classic English folklore led by Academy Award nominee Hugh Jackman (Deadpool and Wolverine). He will be playing an older version of the titular hero. This marks Jackman’s first collaboration with the acclaimed studio.

What do we know about The Death of Robin Hood?
“In the film, grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation,” reads the synopsis.
The Death of Robin Hood is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski (A Quiet Place: Day One). The filmmaker first gained recognition for his feature-length directorial movie Pig, which starred Nicolas Cage as a truffle hunter. The ensemble cast also includes Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Bill Skarsgård (It: Welcome to Derry), Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), and Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place), with Skarsgård set to play a version of Little John whom Robin Hood once mentored.
In addition to starring, Jackman has also signed on to become an executive producer alongside Sarnoski, Rama Gottumukkala, Jon Rosenberg, and Natalie Sellers. It is produced by Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and Alexander Black. The creative team consists of editor Andrew Mondshein, cinematographer Pat Scola, production designer David Lee, costume designer Lorna Marie Mugan, and more.
The movie is expected to be released sometime in 2026.
