Mercedes Javid revealed the “biggest reason” she split with Tommy Feight, and she addressed the “intense” new chapter of her life after filing for divorce.
According to reports, the Shahs of Sunset star separated from Tommy in October of last year — the day she filed. She also requested sole custody of their child.
On the Heal 2 Feel podcast, Mercedes was asked to share the “biggest reason” for her split.
“Just the disrespect and the disregard and the apathy. That I felt like he was just checked out, not participating,” said Mercedes.
“Taking you for granted?” asked the co-host.
“Yeah,” Mercedes answered. “I definitely felt that … our whole lives [were taken] for granted … [I felt] extremely isolated for a really long time.”
“Don’t ever allow fear to stand in the way of what’s best for you, what’s right for you, what’s worth, you know, risks in life,” Mercedes added. “Literally everything [right now], it’s like, what am I doing? Who am I? I am rediscovering, like, everything. It’s so intense and it’s so wild. And, you know, that feels more like what life should be.”
Back in November, Mercedes addressed her divorce while speaking to E! News at BravoCon. “I love him. We’re always going to be family and I think the future is going to be really positive for all of us, Tommy, me, Shams, everyone,” she said at the time.
Mercedes then hinted at the reboot, The Valley: Persian Style.
“Nothing is off limits,” she explained. “We won’t let each other get away with that. We gotta face everything.”
She also told US Weekly, “Thank God, I’m gonna keep [the divorce] very positive … I feel like, of course, it’s a difficult thing, but we’re gonna be good. It’s very, very new and raw. So I’m still, like, processing like 99 percent of it as we speak.”
The star was then asked if she’d pursue a hookup at BravoCon.
“Are you kidding me? I’m married right now,” she said. “We are just doing baby steps — things like [being] separated, new homes. That kind of thing.”
The Valley: Persian Style premieres Thursday, January 8, on Bravo.
