Law & Order has been on the air for 25 seasons and has featured a lot of star-studded cameos — but some of the most memorable could still be coming soon. In honor of the milestone anniversary, the Dick Wolf franchise stars gave Us their ideas about which notable names in Hollywood should make an appearance in the future.
While Tony Goldwyn — who plays DA Nick Baxter on Law & Order — is manifesting a Scandal reunion, Peter Scanavino spoke to Us Weekly about the type of actors he likes to see on the show.
“I really like when older actors come on,” Scanavino, who plays ADA Sonny Carisi on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit told Us exclusively at the Law & Order 25th Anniversary Celebration in New York City on Tuesday, January 6. “I don’t want to say anybody in particular. I don’t want them to hear me say, ‘Oh, they’re old.’ But that’s really the actors that I like.”
He explained that some of the guest stars are “so seasoned and so good” that they bring more than just their star power.
“They come in, and they’re so awesome to watch,” Scanavino continued. “All the stories and the hangs, that’s a big part of it.”
Law & Order premiered in 1990 and was on the air for 20 seasons before coming to an end in 2010. NBC revived the series in 2022, and the show’s 25th season premiered in September 2025.
“The Wolf universe really takes care of people, and they really set people up. They’ve been feeding me forever,” Kevin Kane, who plays Detective Terry Bruno on SVU, told Us. “My first job ever [was] getting off a bus [on] Law & Order with Jerry Orbach.”
He added, “I had no idea what it was doing. It was before I even trained. I was freaking out, and he could tell, and he just chilled me out. We did the scene together, and he saved my life.”

Tony Goldwyn
The actor wants his former Scandal costar Kerry Washington to appear on the show.
“I keep bugging her about that,” he told Us, sharing that Meryl Streep would be an “awesome” one as well.
Kelli Giddish
The SVU star, who plays Amanda Rollins, wants to see Billy Bob Thornon on the show.
“I absolutely love him,” she gushed.
Odelya Halevi
The actress, who currently stars as ADA Sam Maroun, is hoping for an appearance by Brad Pitt.
Aimé Donna Kelly
Kelly currently appears as Captain Renee Curry on SVU and wants Broadway star Audra McDonald to guest star.
“I just want to be related to her in any way possible. If it has to be through Curry, then I’ll do that,” she said. “I love her. I’m in love with Audra McDonald. I would love to see her on the show.”
Kevin Kane
Kane has more of a personal request with Amy Schumer.
“From my own personal history and for my friendship, I want to slap the cuffs on Schumer,” he said. “I keep putting it out there, we’ll see. But I don’t want anybody else to do it. I want to be the one to do that.”
Juliana Martinez
The former SVU actress thinks New York native Timothée Chalamet would be a fantastic addition.
“I would hope he would wear a Knicks sweater and be someone slightly misunderstood and not really be the suspect,” she said. “We all think he’s a suspect, but he’s really an innocent guy all along. I think Timothee would really kill that.”
Allison Siko
Siko played Elliot Stabler’s (Christopher Meloni) daughter Kathleen on SVU for years. Not only does she want to be asked back but as an idea for possible costars.
“There’s some great untapped Broadway talent that is starting to get tapped a little bit more,” she shared. “I would love to see, I don’t know, maybe a Sutton Foster or a Tom Francis. He was great in Sunset Boulevard.”
