The story of Marvel Zombies isn’t done yet! Producer Brad Winderbaum teases that the series may be set to continue on Disney Plus sooner than later.

Marvel Zombies is, in the truest sense of the word, one of the most divisive shows that Disney Plus has put out. Most often people use “divisive” to mean “generally bad,” but the series had a true mix of reactions. Some fans loved it, some hated it, and some didn’t even realize it came out prior to reading this sentence.

However, one thing that can’t be argued is that the series did numbers. While Disney Plus rarely, if ever, gives the public exact streaming numbers, the viewership for the project greatly surpassed what Marvel expected of the project. This led many to wonder if more stories in the Marvel Zombies universe could be making their way down the pipeline.

Is Marvel Zombies Continuing?

Brad Winderbaum, who serves as Head of Streaming, Television and Animation at Marvel Studios, recently appeared on The Official Marvel Podcast to kick off the new year. When speaking about Marvel Zombies, the producer admits that there isn’t anything greenlit yet, but there are certainly new projects being developed in that world.

“I certainly hope so. I’ll tell you this, since I’m the first episode of the year, we’re developing a few things right now behind the scenes. Obviously, nothing’s been green lit yet, but we are actively developing the next zombie story. So, fingers crossed. It’s not official, but [showrunner Bryan Andrews is] back in the house and we’re starting to talk about ideas. The little bit I’ve heard so far is incredible.”

Given the Disney Plus series did little to adapt the Marvel Zombies comics, there are truly limitless possibilities as to where the show could go next. With the Fantastic Four being a much larger part of the Marvel narrative now, and the team playing a large role in the comics, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the First Family make their debut in the next project.

Marvel Zombies is now streaming on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
