It seems Loki won’t be acting alone in Avengers: Doomsday! A rumor suggests that the trickster God may find a surprising friend (or foe?) in the upcoming film.
There’s been a lot of questions about what role Loki will actually play in Avengers: Doomsday. After all, the last fans saw him, he was quite literally confined to a throne holding the Multiverse together. And while it’s obvious that the villain turned hero would spring into action now that the Multiverse is in trouble, the rumor mill has been mostly silent about the “how”.
Yet an interesting rumor seems to have raised more questions than answers among the community. A post from leaker MyTimeToShineHello suggests that Avengers: Doomsday will feature key scenes of Loki interacting with none other than Steve Rogers. While details on what those scenes entail haven’t been confirmed, fans have already started to form a few theories.
Loki’s Role In Avengers: Doomsday
The most prominent rumor regarding Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday is actually that him going back in time at the end of Avengers: Endgame is actually the inception of the incursions now plaguing the multiverse. If true, it makes sense as to why he’d share some scenes with Loki given his new status as chairman of the multiverse.
However, a rumor or two have implied that Steve Rogers won’t actually be fighting with the main team in Avengers: Doomsday. Rather, he’ll be among the heroes taken to the TVA to deal with explicitly multiversal matters. This could explain how he shares scenes with Loki given the character’s current seating arrangement.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
