Erika Jayne is doubling down on her claim that Kyle Richards should stay out of the ongoing drama between Dorit Kemsley and her estranged husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, which she made on the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
As Kyle, 57, acknowledged that Dorit, 49, had made it clear that she was unwilling to consider what she had to say and suspected she was bothered by the friendship between PK, 58, and Mauricio Umansky, 55, Dorit recalled how she stood by Kyle in the early moments of her separation from Mau, Erika, 54, said there was “no winning” when it comes to getting in the middle, and Rachel Zoe, 54, suggested Kyle’s behavior was triggering.
“I still feel that way, because nothing you can say is gonna work,” Erika noted on the most recent episode of the RHOBH: After Show.
According to Rachel, she felt that Kyle was dancing a fine line between being respectful of Mau and their friendship, and having a connection to PK through Mau.
“PK’s still in her orbit, and so I think it would be challenging for Kyle to be like ‘F*ck you, get out of my house.’ But I think that Dorit doesn’t necessarily see that or understand that line of thinking,” she reasoned.
Rachel also felt that Kyle’s closeness to PK was a “trigger” for Dorit.
“When you’re f*cking in it, and one of your closest girlfriends says even like, one f*cking sentence that feels like she might see his side or agree with him, it’s like your emotional response, I think, at that point, it’s like, ‘Are you f*cking okay right now? Do you know what he’s done?’” she explained. “I’m not saying Kyle’s wrong because I don’t know PK. I know nothing that happened before I met Dorit. However, I just know it’s a trigger, so I think, as a friend, you have to be like, ‘Okay.’ You just have to listen.”
“There’s no winning,” Erika replied.
And Kyle agreed.
“Erika’s absolutely right. It’s hard at times because this topic does come up repeatedly, but I’ve already learned with Dorit that if she has an idea in her head, she is on that train, and it is not stopping,” she claimed. “She’s just made it very clear. She could be saying worse things, and she doesn’t want that advice from me anymore, so the only time it comes up again is when it comes up that she was annoyed that I gave her that advice, and I feel like I have to explain why I did.”
Kyle went on to say that she felt Dorit might be bothered by how close Mau is to PK, and how Kyle was “hearing things from Mau.”
“Maybe she feels the need to over-explain the point she wants to make to me, because she knows I’m hearing some of the things,” she suspected. “I don’t know. But she definitely has a different reaction to me talking about it than anyone else.”
In her own After Show segment, Dorit pointed out that she was loyal to Kyle when she and Mau first split, describing their relationship at the time as “bitter.”
“They didn’t have the friendship that they have. They were very estranged. And bitter,” she alleged. “And PK and I were still together. And very close. So, PK was sharing with me his friendship, and how Mau was feeling, and so on. I never once felt it hard to have an allegiance to Kyle. In fact, I never once felt like I was betraying my husband. I would say to my husband, ‘Oh, I am firmly in her court.’ And stood, she doesn’t know this, but stood in defense of her more times than you could ever imagine, and I mean without even knowing the facts … So I think that’s why also, it feels so like, ‘This is not hard … to give that type of support.’”
Dorit then noted that she didn’t need Kyle to “bash PK.”
“You don’t have to say, ‘F*ck PK!’ If you want to? Great. If you don’t? I’m not asking you for that… That’s not what I need from you. And don’t confuse the two,” she advised.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
