Although he might be best known for his work as Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Pratt might return to another blockbuster franchise. After making a name for himself as Andy Dwyer in “Parks and Recreation,” the actor completely reinvented his image for 2015’s “Jurassic World.” Following the success of “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” which starred fellow alum Scarlett Johansson, Pratt revealed what it would take for fans to see him return to his role of Owen Grady.

During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor revealed whether or not he would be interested in returning to the “Jurassic World” franchise.

“Maybe, yeah. I think so,” he said, adding, “That would be awesome.” He went on to say that he loves the character of Owen Grady, Universal, and the team responsible for bringing the blockbuster franchise to life.

He also reiterated his love for his “Avengers” co-star. “Love Scarlett. I think that would be epic,” he continued. “We’d just have to find a way to do it in a way that honors the stories that we told the first three times.”

Although Star-Lord and Black Widow never actually interact in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are eager to see if Star-Lord or Black Widow will make an appearance in “Avengers: Doomsday,” which is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.

Fans who don’t want to wait until December to see if Star-Lord shows up in “Avengers: Doomsday” can catch Pratt on-screen in “Mercy,” where he plays a detective accused of murdering his wife. His character has only 90 minutes to prove his innocence to a judge who is comprised of artificial intelligence.

At the New York City premiere on Tuesday, January 20, director Timur Bekmambetov told PEOPLE magazine that Pratt gave a “very vulnerable” performance as homicide detective Chris Raven.

“This movie, it’s not just an action movie — because we expect Chris Pratt to be tough and jump and entertain us — but it’s [also] very vulnerable, very broken man. And it was unique for him,” he said. “He played this for the first time.”

Pratt Previously Worked With The ‘Mercy’ Director Over 10 Years Ago

This is not the first time that he has worked with Pratt. The pair first worked together on the 2008 action-thriller “Wanted.” He said the experience taught him that Pratt was a versatile actor, but admitted that, in his latest film, Pratt surprised him with “how unexpectedly dramatic he could be.”

Although Pratt has become well-known for his stunts, much of the film’s criticism boils down to the fact that the actor is strapped to a chair for the majority of the film’s 90-minute runtime. Last year, at New York City Comic Con, Pratt said that he had actually asked them to confine him to the chair so he didn’t have to pretend that he was strapped down.

During the panel, which also featured Bekmambetov and costar Kali Reis, the “Passengers” actor explained how being strapped down presented its own challenges.

“I was cuffed to this chair both at the feet and at the hands,” he explained. “And for part of it with my head at the end when I’m about to be — well, I don’t wanna ruin the movie — but I’m strapped to this thing.”

He went on to say, “There’s a certain level of claustrophobia that you just naturally feel when you’re strapped down to something, and that was helpful, in fact.”

While at New York City Comic Con, Pratt also told the publication that he prepared for the role by working with the Los Angeles Police Department.

“I had an opportunity to work with the LAPD and their homicide division, and so I was able to go down and talk to those guys,” he explained, describing the experience as “really incredible.”

“I mean some of the stunt work we did was really great. We got to drive, cop cars, and do some cool bar fight stuff,” he recalled before praising the law enforcement officials that he worked with as “heroes.”

“Man, these guys are heroes,” he added. “The trouble that they encounter and the trauma they see on a day-to-day basis is really, really staggering.”
