What happens in the I Love Boosters teaser trailer?
The trailer highlights the group known as the “Velvet Gang,” a group of “boosters” who steal from high fashion stores to resell it elsewhere. The chaotic trailer focuses on the group’s attempts to steal from a fashion maven (Moore), who is out to stop them no matter what.
Alongside Palmer and Moore, I Love Boosters will also star LaKeith Stanfield, Naomi Ackie, Eiza González, Poppy Liu, Taylour Paige, and Will Poulter.
The film is written and directed by Boots Riley, who previously directed 2018’s Sorry to Bother You and the 2023 television series I’m a Virgo. Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swet, Allison Rose Carter, and Jon Read serve as producers on the project.
Palmer is known for starring in movies such as 2019’s Hustlers and 2022’s Nope, while she also voiced Izzy Hawthorne in 2022’s Lightyear. Moore, meanwhile, recently starred alongside Margaret Qualley in The Substance, which is currently playing in United States theaters.
Ackie was recently seen playing Frida in 2024’s Blink Twice. She was also in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and portrayed Whitney Houston in 2022’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody. She also starred in Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17, which released earlier this year.
