Superman better pack some winter clothes! A deleted scene from the DC Universe’s flagship film reveals that the Abominable Snowman walks among us!
In the lead-up to the Academy Awards, James Gunn and DC Studios have released the script for Superman to the public. This was done in order for the script to be in consideration for the “Best Adapted Screenplay” category at the Oscars. However, it has also giving fans some unique insight on the DC Universe’s freshman project, including a rather interesting deleted scene.
This scene, which was confirmed to exist last year by VFX artist Matthew Eberle, shows Superman being dragged through the Fortress of Solitude by Krypto. In the process, the duo pass by the corpses of what appear to be Yetis, this being confirmed by the hero stating ‘Krypto, you have to stop killing abominable snowmen.’
Yep! Krypto had a bloodlust for abominable snowmen 🐾 pic.twitter.com/wd6edy4Mxq

The DC Universe’s Abominable Snowman
Most people would assume that this deleted scene was simply a one-off joke by James Gunn. Those people are probably right. However, the DC Universe does have an interesting history with the Abominable Snowman. A history which, if Gunn is smart, could tie back into this never-before-seen Superman moment in a big way.
Perhaps the most prominent version of the Abominable Snowman in the DC Universe is Klaus Kristin, the child of a human mother and a yeti father. Klaus is notable for being a villain of Batman, going on a crime-spree to fund his trek to find a cold home to live in. It’s possible that, if James Gunn is ever to release this deleted scene, it could be a key moment that ties Superman to an obscure villain that could be used in Batman: The Brave and The Bold.
Batman: The Brave and The Bold is currently in development at DC Studios. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe!
